The Consumer Protection Division, which received approximately 9,000 complaints last year, assists Arkansas consumers when problems arise during everyday consumer transactions. Attorney General staff may help by contacting a business and mediating a positive resolution. In other instances, attorneys pursue lawsuits against those who violate the Arkansas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
Arkansans who call the Consumer Protection hotline will be greeted by a phone counselor who can advise or provide guidance of an issue or forward the matter to an investigator who specializes in fields ranging from cars to credit cards.

Regular busines hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you call after hours, you can leave a voicemail, and your call will be returned.
